Share your story to help spread awareness of chronic wounds
Thursday, 4 July 2024
We know that wounds affect a range of people, of all ages and stages and from every walk of life. The most impactful way of educating Australia about the scale of its wound problem is with real-life examples.

Our Wound Champions are people – consumers or clinicians – who share their experiences of living with a wound or caring for someone who does. In the past they’ve appeared on television, on radio and in print, and online, helping us to spread the word about wounds.

This Wound Awareness Week, we need YOU!

Are you:
  • A care professional with an interesting story to tell about working in wound care, or a great patient journey?
  • A person living with wounds (or caring for someone who does) who would be willing to talk about your experience?
We’re looking for:
  • Contributors in every state and territory for interviews with local media
  • A range of age groups and wound types
  • Unusual or impactful stories – or just very typical, to illustrate how common and everyday the transition from acute to chronic can be,
Contributors will:
  • Have their story published at woundaware.org, which receives thousands of hits during Wound Awareness Week
  • Be invited to take part in media interviews, with the right to accept or refuse requests as they choose
  • Receive media training
