ANZBA and Wounds Australia collaboration announced
Tuesday, 7 January 2025

We are delighted to share that a partnership with the Australian and New Zealand Burn Association has been finalised.

A memorandum of understanding executed at the end of 2024 outlined a future collaboration between Wounds Australia and ANZBA with benefits to members of both organisations.

The worlds of burn treatment and wound care are very closely linked, with many similar challenges. Wounds Australia Board Director and Wound Awareness Week Ambassador Professor Fiona Wood AO is a renowned burns expert with a longstanding connection to both organisations and facilitated the relationship.

"Wounds Australia and ANZBA share the common goal of improving care for thousands of people who experience serious burns and other chronic wounds," Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff said. "It is heartening to see these leaders in their fields commit to a collaboration that will improve more lives, and we thank Professor Wood for her help in bringing it to fruition."

The organisations have committed to greater information sharing, to exploring potential research opportunities and to promoting each other's work.
